Can I replace a window with a French door or sliding patio door at the back of my house?

We specialise in this service. From start to finish we will ensure the least disruption to your home. Our French doors come in a range of finishes and are muti-locking with added shoot bolts. They are manufactured to the highest standards using toughened safety glass and internal glazing for maximum security. We can arrange to have an existing radiator moved if necessary and a step outside if required. All of this will enhance your home and bring added light and security.

Porch doors

Whether you choose a sliding patio door or a French door for your porch, we guarantee it will add extra security and heat retention while enhancing the appearance of your house. Both are available with mid-rails to include a letter plate if required. Side panels can be added to span larger openings. All our doors are manufactured to meet weather performance and operational strenght characteristics as specified in British Standard BS6375. Parts 1 and 2.

What is a bi-folding door?

Designed to fully maximise any opening space, bi-folding doors are available from 2 to 6 panes in a variety of opening sequences to suit your needs. They incorporate an aluminium bottom track for improved operation. For day to day practical use, larger doors can incorporate single or double opening doors.

What is the locking system on your back door? I’m concerned about security.

Our back doors have ten locking points with a shoot bolt lock top and bottom and all our doors are glazed internally for maximum security. Glass can be clear or obscure usually with a raised panel on the bottom half.

uPVC or Composite front door- what’s the difference?

Composite doors have an authentic wood-grain finish. All glass is triple glazing. The hinges are concealed and it’s structure is strong due to the 65mm door panel. A composite door is significantly more secure, which is a great addition to the security of your home.

How does double glazing work?

Our low e glass allows heat from the sun to the room and stops it from leaving by reflecting the light back in. The glass is also Optiwhite, a brilliantly clear pane type which improves Solar gain also.

Is the benefit of triple glazing worth the extra cost?

There is not much in the temperature difference between double-glazed and triple glazed windows in terms of heat retention, a room will be approximately 2 degrees C warmer with triple glazing. Our advanced system of KS glass, made by Pilkington have allowed us to provide the most energy efficient windows on the market. We offer triple glazing as an up-grade on all our windows.

What is the window energy rating system?

Windows and doors are rated from ‘A’ which is the highest, most energy efficient grade, to ‘G’ the least energy efficient grade. Our ‘A+’ graded window provides solar gain heat and total heat retention.

What is U-value?

U-value is how the industry measures the energy efficiency of PVC windows. The lower the U- value, the lower the amount of heat loss. The U-value of our glass is 0.8 U value W/m2.k. With the high cost of heating your homes, our aim is to save you money with our award winning double-glazed windows.

What kinds of obscure glass do you offer?

We offer a variety of obscure glass types for your consideration. Ranging from high intensity obscurity for bathrooms to a delicate obscurity for second floor windows. Our Flemish obscure glass is hugely popular and comes highly recommended by us as a mid range obscure glass.

Can I interchange glass options on your door ranges?

What is Toughened glass?

Our toughened Pilkington K glass is up to five times stronger than ordinary glass of the same thickness. it meets the world- wide safety standards for glass subjected to accidental human impact at the highest level of severity. It is mainly used in French doors, patio doors and large windows such as front door side-screens.

Can an intruder remove the glass in my new double-glazed windows to gain entry?

Our windows are internally glazed for maximum security which means the glass cannot be removed from the outside.

What are uPVC windows?

The ‘u’ in uPVC means unplasticised, which in turn means that the material used has not been softened by chemicals known as plasticisers making it ideal for the production of windows.

What are the benefits of changing to uPVC windows?
